In this hands-on, beginner-level course you will learn the fundamentals of sourdough baking from start to finish. Topics will include sourdough baking tools, learning to use baker’s percentages, creating and maintaining your own sourdough culture, baking with different types of flour including locally grown and milled flour, mixing, bulk-fermenting, shaping, proofing, scoring, baking, and much more. By the end of the course, you will have the knowledge and skills to confidently create your own beautiful and delicious sourdough bread at home. We will taste fresh bread together, and each participant will leave the course with a complementary sourdough starter and baking guide to continue their sourdough journey at home. All levels of bakers welcome, from new to experienced.
